Abstract
The purpose of this study is to validate the goodness-of-fit scale for mothers of infant less than 36 months old; a scale, which was developed by the Delphi survey. 2000 mothers from 7 regions were recruited for this study and, the data obtained were analyzed through exploratory factor analysis, confirmatory factor analysis, correlation analysis, multiple regression analysis, and reliability analysis. The results of the study are as follows. First, subscale analyses revealed that the infantile temperament(5 factor), maternal Self Understanding(4 factor), and maternal parenting reaction(3 factor) three-subscale were appropriate. Second, there was a statistically significant positive correlation between the current scale and IBSP, IBSC, Parent Reflection, indicating concurrent validity. Finally, higher scores of the subscale(maternal Self Understanding and maternal Parenting Reaction) and their factors significantly predicted higher scores of PSOC(Parental Self-efficacy). These findings confirm the validith of this new measure to goodness-of-fit and specifically suggests what kinds of attitudes assured the validity of infantile temperament.
